Ever notice that the majority of ASM message forums have little to NONE female registered users? I do know there are more female ASM programmers out there then what stats say?

Why is that?  Are they afraid of something?

I do know in general there are more males then females in the programming world but it is interesting none-the-less that hardly any ASM forums have even "one" registered female.

Ghirai

I was admin on a forum with 8000 members, and still only 1 female.

We should get some statistics off different boards, to see what the chances are of a female to register here :P

Vortex

Funny that this topic has come up.  There has been a little controversey over some remarks made by the president of harvard last week that has femminists fuming. Women Lack 'Natural Ability' In Some Fields, Harvard President Says

Yes you are correct, it takes years of practice to get it right.  :toothy

Now for those who like to live dangerously, mention in front of the ladies anything about "washing dishes and making babies" and you will wake up the next morning with an extra smile, where your throat used to be.  :green2

Me?  Nah, I wouldn't do a thing like that with modern software these day.   :bg

I'm always for what ever works best for the individual person and as a team, group, society. In my opinion, I think females have a thought process (either because of societ or genetics) that can be *very* beneficial to some discussions where sometimes males have trouble "thinking outside the box".

Isn't that the truth for some people.   :toothy

If you check the Fasm board has more females than masm and win32. Hurry up and register at fasm board to get in contact with some girls. If you really want to meet one.

the famous coder c0mrade told us:
"Not every man is a asm coder, but every asm coder is a man"
so based on his theory, you can't find any females here. if someone said there are some females here, then he is lying. if you don't believe me, then you may shout out " who is a female?" .  the affirmed case is: long time passed, nothing respond.
let's try.

I am not interesting in meeting new females. I already have one that I find very dear to me.  ;-)

Just find it interesting that in the profession of software developers (either as hobbiest, job, etc) that the ratio on public boards in lower or non-existant then what is really out there.

I find some of the comments humerous, in a world were guys give them a hard time, why should they make a noise about gender when all they will get is nonsense back. The girls have been into software for a long time and I can think of some very smart ones from memory.

Nancy Cluts did a lot of the UI work for Microsoft and published a lot of examples back when no-one knew what the common controls were about. When I was working or sorts a while ago, the best of the shell sorts was the result of research by Janet Incerpi.
