When I do my daily perusal of the internet in the morning I do it in Sandboxie.
When done I have about 200 files in the sandbox that I have to delete.
BUT, when I am sending this message I can not be in Sandboxie.
Programs like Gmail collect huge amounts of data each time you use it.
So I get another 200 files on my computer doing god knows what damage.
Yes I have ESET to help with this but as you know NO product is foolproof.
Am I dong something wrong with Sandboxie??
How do you guys that use it get around this problem>

i am sure most of those files are safe   :P
it takes all sorts of files to create a webpage
it's likely they are just cached webpage files

i am not too sure about doing email in a sandbox
for things like yahoo, hotmail, or gmail, the emails are normally retained on the pop3 server
but if you use something like outlook express or thunderbird, the files may be downloaded and saved on your drive
so - if you do that under a sandbox, those emails could be lost, i suppose

i use thunderbird
the trick is to turn off the preview pane, so emails are not automatically opened
then - i don't open junk mail   :U

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply.
I used to use Thunderbird but was not happy with it.
Gmail/Google has become invasive. They collect tons of info every
time you use them.
This message is being written unSandboxed because I don't think
Sandboxie will let you sent an email Sandboxed. IMHO

Oh my, they're spying on you shankle. You appear to suffer from social computer anxiety. A great many people are daunted by the power and complexity of computers and are deathly afraid of them. I know a woman that believes there is a hacker attacking her computer. Every time there is a problem or she gets an error message she is convinced it is some hacker messing with her. Each sound it makes be it from the speaker or random drive noises causes her to flinch and turn pale. She is suspicious of every file that her browser downloads and does repeated cleanups of her machine daily. She is forever fearful that someone on the internet is out to get her. Folks that have such strong fears about computers should reach over and turn the damn thing off and fine some other activity to spend their time on. Maybe model building or needlepoint would be less stressful. :bg
