Reducing debt and the sound of silence

I have looked at the owner's value with no luck.

I can't get the internal speakers of my TV working again.

The sound works fine coming out of the home theater speakers.

My 9 yr. old grandson Jakob knows I am not working with no money but he wanted a coke and wanted me
to use my debit card.

I told him that I am paying off that card and that it is borrowing from someone and you have to pay it back.

I told him that he could sell his fancy video game that he had with him to buy the coke.  :bg

A nice lady gave him some coke in a coffee cup.

He's a good kid with a big heart.

i don't see a menu setting to disable internal sound
however, you do have an audio equalizer in the menus - it could be out of whack
maybe all the "bands" are turned way down - and the EQ does not affect sound outputs
i suppose you should also try the mute and volume buttons on the remote   :P

I will check what you recommended.

I may have some cables going to the wrong place.

I live with and take care of my mother who has dementia.

Tad bit stressful.  :bg

Sometimes you have to do the Zen,"I am the machine" thing to find an answer :dazzled:

i noticed something in the manual...
"do not connect speakers directly to the audio outputs"
i guess they haven't learned about short-circuit protection   :P
seeing as your audio outputs still work, i can figure you probably haven't done that

Magnum

It's the internal speakers of the TV that aren't working.

I am pretty show they aren't burned out.  :bg

i hear ya   :lol

it doesn't make a lot of sense, either
i would think the audio signals for the outputs are used to drive the internal amplifiers, as well

dedndave

...that's why i was looking for something in the menu that disables the internal speakers
it may be in there, too - i missed it, or it's an updated feature not shown in the manual
i can see where you may want to disable them if using an external amplifier

anunitu

I know some plugs disable the speakers when you plug in a set of head phones..???

dedndave

good thinking, anunitu   :U

maybe one of the grandkids jammed a pencil or PB&J in there - lol

I uploaded some pics to flickr but can't find the link where you can find them.

flickr seems to be down, at the moment
typically, you can right-click on an image - Properties - then copy/paste the location from the property dialog
